Ell – Pretty in Pastel – Hermanus Wedding

The Sweet Sandra, with her dramatic eyes and slender form married her athletic beau, Craig, on the slopes of the mountain at the Ethical ELL Restaurant on the Spookfontein Estate. They chose to get married at Dusk instead of the traditional afternoon ceremony. The weather played along and they were celebrated a wind free, outdoor ceremony on the steps and fountain area at the entrance to the venue. Country cushions were scattered, and apple baskets filled with flowers greeted her guests. The printed programme was coupled with original bon-bons in pastel packets and presented in Bashew crates as arrival gifts.
The reception decor brief was Sandra’s pinterest board. She wanted tall bottles filled with pastel flowers that were loose and looked newly picked. She told me later the evening that walking into the restaurant reception area, was like look at her pinterest board, she was elated.
Their menu choice started with anti-pasti platters, bruschetta with interesting toppings and Ell pizza. For mains small portions were served at the tables starting with risotto cake, wild mushroom, rocket and goats caprino, then whole smoked trout with baby potato tossed in dijon grain mustard and lemon aioli and a fresh garden salad as well as beef fillet tonnato with marinated veg salad. For dessert mini pavlovas with berries and cream, decadent chocolate brownies and citron tartlets with lavender cream. After the decadent meal, the dancefloor was opened and guests enjoyed the rest of a magical evening. Another Hermanus Wedding that left the guests in awe at the natural beauty of our surrounds.
