Ell Spookfontein – Sweet Serenity
Zane and Lucy tied the knot on 29th November 2014. The ceremony was held at High Season Stud Farm in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley close to Hermanus, where the majority of their guests stayed for the weekend in their luxurious cottages. The rolling pastures provided a jaw-dropping backdrop for their ceremony. Guests had parasols to protect them from the blistering heat of the summer’s day. Canapes and drinks were served directly after the ceremony before the guests left for the reception at ELL on Spookfontein Estate. The bridesmaids were dressed in Navy and Gold and the bride Lucy, wore her wedding dress above the knees (to show off her athletic body) with a soft lace longer skirt which reached the floor. Zane’s favourite colour, yellow, was picked up in their buttonholes of ‘knopkieries’. The decor inside the restaurant was simple, a mix of small bottles filled with roses and fynbos. Lucy didn’t want to detract from the natural beauty of ELL’s architectural masterpiece, or the unsurpassed views. The Dancefloor was set-up on the front verandah overlooking the valley and topped with fairy lights.
Later in the evening a bottle of tequila with a go-pro camera attached to it’s body was passed around for guests to say a ‘little something’ and take a swig! Interesting…. Guests flew from all over, the Wedding was relaxed, the food was wonderful and many fond memories went home with them all.
